The Barrel is a pizza parlour and spaghetti house in Fort Erie that not only has my favourite pizza and wings in the city, but also has an incredible marquee lighted sign outside the restaurant. Given the amount of time I spent in there with friends and family, it only made sense to close out My Fort Erie with a lighted sign of my own. To get the full effect, unscrew a few of the bulbs, as I don’t think I’ve ever seen the real Barrel marquee sign without a few bulbs burnt out.
On a related note, it seemed like every time we went to The Barrel, the Delilah syndicated radio show was playing in the restaurant, and more often than not, “Celebrate Me Home” by smooth rock legend Kenny Loggins was featured on the playlist. Not unlike Pavlov’s dog, whenever I hear Kenny pleading to be celebrated home, I get hungry.
