Poster #3 – Welland Canal Bridge 5
What would St. Catharines be without the Welland Canal? All four Welland Canals have run through St. Catharines, and it has shaped the city in so many ways. Plus, I think all of us have been stuck at a bridge when we need to get somewhere. It’s what ties us all together.
I’ve taken to riding my bike down by the canal as of late, and pedalling by these massive ships as they slowly travel from lake to lake is pretty breathtaking. The ship in this poster could be either the CSL Niagara or the CSL Laurentien, as both are nearly (or perhaps fully) identical, and both call St. Catharines as their home port.
