Another in my series of migratory birds of Niagara. This little cuties winter in southern Mexico, Central America and the West Indies, but fly up to our neck of the woods to breed. These birds aren’t too fond of hanging out on the ground – preferring treetops, feeders and in the case of this illustration, bird baths. There’s lots to love about these birds, but I love their giant beaks most of all. Though I think it’s pretty mean that we call them gross beaks. They don’t seem that gross to me.*
