While Brock University opened in 1964, its most distinctive building – the Arthur Schmon Tower – didn’t open until 2 years later in 1966. This brand new, 4 colour risograph poster celebrates the university’s move up the hill. The colours are SO VIBRANT in this poster – the photos don’t do it justice. Big thanks to Videpress for once again making my design look even better than I could imagine.
Also, if you search for when the Schmon Tower opened on Google/Wikipedia, it states 1968. While that is technically true – that’s when construction finished, and the Tower officially opened – the Tower actually opened for meetings and classes in September of 1966, while the top 4 floors were still under construction. The ’60s were a crazy time! Big thanks to the Archives and Special Collections floor of the Brock University Library for helping me track down the real move-in date!
