Every time I drive down Westchester, I’m taken by the multi-level skyline of buildings running from IceDogs Way in the bed of the old canal all the way to the top of the crane on Garden Park. It’s especially surreal when I think back to my childhood and what used to be there. No MIWSFPA, no Performing Arts Centre, no MTO building, and certainly no multi-story condo tower. While I’m not one to say that the city doesn’t have its faults, it’s staggering (pun fully intended) to see how much the downtown has grown.
