This is the fourth in my series of migratory birds of Niagara. These regal birbs are chunky and fluffy and I love them. Whenever I post one of these, I include some facts as if I knew it all along, but please don’t be fooled – I am learning it just minutes before you do. Apparently these birds can stay awake for up to two weeks during migration, which is being studied for possible human applications in shift-work and truck driving. I mean, I’m all for not needing sleep, but if it’s just to wring more work out of people, the birds can just keep it.
